FAQs Tata Trot (Thiamethoxam 30% FS) Insecticide :
1. What is Tata Trot and how does it protect young crops?
Ans. Tata Trot is a systemic neonicotinoid insecticide formulated as a fluid suspension (FS). It’s designed primarily for seed treatment, giving powerful early protection by preventing pests from feeding on vulnerable seedlings.
2. How does it work to stop insect damage?
Ans. Once absorbed by seeds, TAC (Thiamethoxam) moves through the growing plant, disrupting the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors of insects. This nerve disruption halts feeding, effectively protecting plants from damage.
3. What pests and crops does it target?
Ans. Tata Trot provides excellent early-stage defense against sucking and soil pests such as aphids, whiteflies, jassids, and thrips, plus termites, shoot fly, and wireworms depending on the crop.
Some recommended crop applications include:
- Cotton – jassids, aphids, whitefly
- Wheat – termites
- Rice – thrips, green leafhoppers, whorl maggots
- Maize, Sorghum, Okra, Chilli, Sunflower, Soybean – various shoot, stem, and sucking pests
4. What are the key benefits of using the 'FS' formulation?
Ans.
- Easy mixing and precise dosing
- Fast absorption into seeds ensures internal, systemic coverage
- Enhanced plant vigor and early resilience
5. Are there environmental or safety considerations?
Ans. Tata Trot is moderately hazardous (WHO Class III). While generally safe for humans when used with care, it is notably highly toxic to bees and aquatic life. Spray drift must be avoided, and flowering crops should be protected to prevent hive contamination.
6. Can use of Tata Trot support pest resistance management?
Ans. Yes. This product’s distinct systemic mode of action helps delay resistance emergence when used as part of a well-rotated insecticide program and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
